Dr. Hoover has dedicated his life to improving medical care and increasing the availability and awareness to fully individualized medicine. He currently serves as the President of the American Institute of Homeopathy, the oldest extant national organization of physicians. Additionally, he is the immediate past president of the Council on Homeopathic Education and a member of the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia Convention of the United States which helps regulate the manufacturing of homeopathic medicines. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Hoover has been widely published, interviewed and invited to lecture on a range of Holistic Medicine topics. In 2007, Dr. Hoover founded the Philadelphia Wellness Council and produced the Philly Wellness Guide which now has a membership of over 550 holistic health practitioners from throughout the Delaware Valley. As a result of the success of Philly Wellness Guide, Dr. Hoover has now created a new company, Better Medicine, LLC to develop similar communities across the United States.  Better Medicine is designed to raise the quality of holistic health care to solidify the spectrum of health care options available to the American Public. 

Medical Director      Lockheed Martin

For 15 years, Dr. Hoover was the medical director for Lockheed Martin’s Management and Data Systems division. He integrated preventive medicine programs and wellness initiatives to produce over $15 million savings per year due to better health and productivity of the employees. He trained an emergency response team formed by employee volunteers, was a primary developer of the air and environmental quality assurance program, led the medical program for defense against terroristic acts, and was a key developer of the enterprise wide electronic medical record system. Dr. Hoover’s drive to bring personalized and hands-on care to business resulted in much higher employee satisfaction and business success.

Medical Training

Dr. Hoover graduated magna cum laude from Pennsylvania State University and Jefferson Medical College in an accelerated 5 year combined Pre-med / Medical program. He completed his internship at Hartford Hospital, and Family Medicine Residency at the Montgomery Family Practice Residency Program affiliated with Temple University Medical School.

Navy Medical Officer

Dr. Hoover served a distinguished career as a Naval Medical Officer for 4 years rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander (Sel) after serving on two different tours of duty aboard the USS Guadalcanal and the USS Whidbey Island. He was awarded the Marine Unit Expeditionary Medal and the Navy Unit Commendation during these deployments.
